I am heartfully and proudly unveiling our shared Paskong Salu-Salo Fundraising event through as masterfully curated photos and video, by Team SoWedding.ca, that successfully took place on Decemebr 14th, 2025.
This event could have taken place in other venues as its success would not have only been the location as the reason.
The true success came from this community of amazing Filipino and Canadian people that showed that in times of dire experiences, together we can come together and serve with a common goal: to assist that needed our helping hands, an understanding and consideration that we have the ability to help, and more importantly, while helping, we can celebrate together our goal coming to reality.
Days after this event, I was torn between some unexpected sad experiences and now seeing the video and photos, I can attest that this event was worth all the hard work, many long days planning, taking many trips to meet our in-kind vendors to texting/pm/emailing back and forth the many people that wanted to attend, sponsor and/or donate.
The outpouring of support from many people that reached out to Gawldy and me was overwhelmingly shocking- many extending services that I never put on my list to do or ask.
When I received the photos and video last week, little did I know that there were a lot of the event’s timeline I had missed. And truthfully, I was upset that I missed the singing and dancing of entertainers and our own guests doing impromptu entertainment, too.
Then I remembered as the organizer, producer, part of floral and event design scope of work, I would have missed the first hour of the event as behind the scenes, there were matters that needed to be done.
Thankfully, now I see what I have missed: many faces smiling, happy and just having a great time.
After the venue’s luncheon, many more entertainment took place with great speeches from the Philippines Deputy Consulate, Mr. Tony Uy, the cheque presentations and to my unrehearsed or wriiten speech. Forgive me if I started to talk too much, but in heart, I wouldn’t have been more proud.

To those that came and to those who sent their love online or by email, no one is different. We all assisted our fellow brothers and sisters, with their families, during the earthquake and 2 typhoons that flooded the many provinces in our homeland Country.
I hope everyone enjoys this souvenir as I have (and still brings tears to my eyes).
