Lady Moss as Inspired by Ha Long Bay wonder from Vietnam
When we received our assignment to draw inspiration from Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, we were filled with excitement and curiosity about how we could uniquely incorporate our mannequin. Not just by adorning our Lady Moss (yes, we affectionately call our mannequin a Lady with a name) with beautiful flowers, but by capturing the essence of the inspiration through a cohesive design that flowed like a single piece. The majestic mountain formations at the bay presented us with the perfect opportunity to create a stunning back feature for our Lady. Some who saw our design during preparation thought it was a cape, but in reality, the formation was seamlessly integrated into the Lady’s back, creating a single, unified look without gaps. The front of the Lady showcased our design aesthetic, utilising her featured frontal layer. We enhanced our Lady’s body with moss, mimicking the natural appearance of the formations. The next layer of our design involved creating a natural habitat for flora and fauna. A surprising element was the addition of water at the bottom, evoking the feeling of the bay. We felt this truly brought our design to life, staying true to our assignment. She may not stand out for conventional beauty, adorned with gorgeous flowers completing her dress, but rather capturing the essence of nature’s splendour.
