The Year of the Fire Horse
When Team Hyatt connected with us for the upcoming Year of the Fire Horse in December last year, just after we completed a successful Gingerbread Lane project, our team didn’t miss a beat. We quickly sought inspiration from various online design platforms, adhering to our standard goal of being inspired and then developing our own unique brand look. By January, we finalized our concept: a majestic golden horse suspended mid-air inside a traditional Asian scroll, gradually unfurling. This life-sized installation measured approximately 12 feet in length and 8 feet in height, intended to be gracefully displayed in the hotel’s grand lobby. To enhance realism, we adorned the bottom of the scroll with a lush garland of premium blooms and vibrant greens, leaving the floor beneath the horse free of obstructions and coated in a glossy red finish. The installation was surrounded by tall cherry blossom trees that created an inviting environment, making the space perfect for guest photo opportunities.
The project was very well received. During the event opening, Hyatt Regency Hotel organized a special afternoon collaboration with the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Organization, featuring a pop-up store and a high tea service. The event was complemented by a live Guzheng musical performance that added an authentic cultural ambiance.
